How to Manage a Listing in Rental Beast

What is the purpose?

This article teaches users how to manage a listing inside Rental Beast. It covers how to add, edit, clone, and update the status of a listing.

How to Add a Rental Listing:

  1. Go to the “My Listings” tab.
  2. Click the “Add a New Listing” button on the right side of your screen.
  3. Add relevant information for your listing and complete all required fields marked with an asterisk.
  4. As you move through each tab, click the “Save & Continue” before moving on to the next tab. 
  5. Once you reach the last tab, “Leads & Notes,” click the “Publish” button.
  6. If you leave the add/edit page at any point, your listing will be saved as a “Draft” and can be edited later. 

How to Edit a Listing: 

  1. Go to the “My Listings” tab.
  2. Locate the listing you want to edit. Click directly on the listing or click the “Arrow” icon to expand the listing overview section. 
  3. Click on the “Pencil” icon to edit your listing.
  4. Select the desired tab you want to update, and click the “Save” button after editing.
  5. Pro-Tip: Use the “Status” drop-down menu or input the “Listing ID” at the top of the page to quickly locate the listing you want to edit. 

How to Clone a Listing:

  1. Go to the “My Listings” tab. 
  2. Choose the listing you want to clone and click on it. 
  3. Click the “Clone Listing” button, it is the“Overlapping Squares” icon. 
  4. A pop-up box will appear with the address information of the listing you are cloning already populated. Edit this information to reflect the new listing address. Any required information is marked with an asterisk. 
  5. If pertinent, you can also clone the pictures and documents. 
  6. Once complete, click the “Create Clone” button. 
  7. A Success box will appear to confirm your listing has been cloned.  
  8. The cloned listing will appear with a “Draft” status. 
  9. Before publishing the listing, click on the listing and select the “Pencil” icon to “Edit” the listing.

How to Update a Listing Status:

  1. ‍Go to the “My Listings” tab. 
  2. Find the listing you want to update and click on it to expand the listing details.
  3. Locate the “Status” drop-down menu which contains the following options: “Active, Application Pending, Rented, Cancelled, and Withdrawn.” 
  4. Once you select the appropriate option, a box will appear to ask you to confirm your selection. Please note that you must input some required information to switch an “Active” listing to “Rented.
  5. To finish changing the listing status, click either the “Yes” or “OK” button.
  6. Please ‍Note: Your listing must be “Active” to have the “Rented” and “Application Pending” options.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What happens after I publish my listing? After publishing your listing it will become active and searchable by other Rental Beast users. Any syndication that has been enabled will now become active.
  • How long does it take for my listing to be active? Listings should show on Rental Beast immediately after publishing. It might have some delay before the listing appears in your MLS. Also, for third-party syndication websites, the listing may take up to 48 hours to appear on their website. 
  • Can I get renter leads for my listing? Yes, you can. Any leads generated on your listing will go back to you, and you only.
  • How do I know if someone is interested in my listing? You will receive an email notification with the lead information and the property address. Additionally, any lead information will be added to your “Client's” tab.
